Here is how you can give to our church
Giving your skills and Time
Lay participation in all areas is strongly encouraged at St. John’s. There are many opportunities to get involved including:
- Welcome team
- Reading the lessons
- Preparing and presenting the intercessions
- Serving and administering the Chalice at Holy Communion
- Prayer Ministry
- Pastoral Team
- Fund raising
- Young Church
- Choir – singing or instruments
- After Service Tea & Coffee
- Bell ringing
We also welcome new members into the PCC at the Annual Parochial Church Meeting as general members or into specific roles such as
- Church Wardens
We are constantly encouraging more people to become involved in these ministries. We believe that every member of the Church has a role to play and gifts to share in the service of God. Encouraging people to discover and explore these gifts is one of the chief responsibilities of the Parish Priest, with the support of the Ministry Team.
Many members of our congregation take part in the Planned Giving Scheme, and give generously.
We also hold a number of fund raising events throughout the year to help our financial situation and to encourage new family members to become more active and welcome in our Church.
It is our policy to invest our funds balances with the CBF, Church of England Deposit Fund, and to make regular contributions to the DBF Repair Fund to help with costs of quinquennial repairs.
